  • Revista Concerto Online: Documentary about tenor Aldo Baldin hits theaters

“The life and career of tenor Aldo Baldin (1945-1994), a prominent figure in Brazilian operatic art with immense international recognition, is the subject of the documentary Aldo Baldin – A Life for Music, which premieres this Thursday, the 31st, in Brazilian theaters.”

“In his column in the July issue of Concerto Magazine, conductor Júlio Medaglia recalled the artist’s career. ‘With Neville Marriner, Baldin recorded Haydn’s The Creation and Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro. While in operatic music he had concentrated on the repertoire of Rossini, Mozart, and Donizetti, in concert music he became renowned as an interpreter of Bach’s sacred music. He was also a promoter of the Lied, the German songbook, a repertoire of unparalleled richness,’ he wrote.”
